We’re still quite a way from playing live gigs. To hold everyone (and myself) over, I’ve taken the lead from the amazing people at Real Women Real Songs and I’m producing a song every week in 2021, using the same songwriting prompts that the RWRS folks are using. If you haven’t done so already, head over to my Facebook page and “like” or, if you’re not quite as ready to commit to a long-term relationship, “follow” to get notified when new videos are posted. Cheers!
No, I haven’t been playing for y’all very much lately, but I have been composing tunes for our times (and perhaps some other times) and I’m eager to share them with you. I’ll be sharing some of them around the campsites at this year’s Falcon Ridge Folk Festival. Perhaps I’ll see you there.
I’ll be mostly just chilling out at this year’s Northeast Regional Folk Alliance conference in Stamford. But I will be playing one guerrilla showcase in the Acoustic Live room at 2:15 a.m. Friday night (or Saturday morning, if you prefer). I’m expecting to play an all-new 15-minute set. You wouldn’t want to miss that, would you?
I know, I know. You haven’t been getting enough live Berube lately. Well, while you’re waiting patiently you can experience the latest installment of the Falcon Pack podcast. In it, I join hosts Alan Glucksman and Brianne Dougherty to chat about all things artistic, how much I love Stanley Kubrick, and my own process to creating stuff.
Check out the Gigs page for some great shows coming up. Very excited to be leveraging my position as an Honorable Mention at the 2015 Falcon Ridge Folk Festival Emerging Artist Showcase to join Scott Wolfson & Other Heroes and Annika Bennett at Sanctuary Concerts in New Jersey. Also, traveling to Maryland to open for the great Jonathan Byrd at Moore Music. More to come in 2016, including another Concert Window show. Enjoy!
It’s been a great 2015. Sticky made its way out into the world, getting radio airplay from coast to coast and corrupting minds young and old with its dizzying array of bizarre tales.
We kicked off the year with an enormously fun CD release party at First Acoustics in Brooklyn. I played other great gigs, including the Emerging Artists Showcase at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival, John Platt‘s On Your Radar, and a Quad Showcase at this year’s Northeast Regional Folk Alliance (NERFA) Conference.
Keep an eye out for some fun gigs in 2016 that will be announced shortly. In the meantime, I’ll be doing another Concert Window show in late January. Join me for some virtual musical fun. And have a very Happy New Year!
I am delighted to have been selected to perform at a Quad Showcase at this year’s Northeast Regional Folk Alliance (NERFA) Conference. I’ll be performing in the Duchess room on Saturday night (November 14th). I’ll also be playing a few late-night guerrilla showcases on Friday and Saturday nights with pals like Sharon Goldman and Scott Wolfson and Other Heroes. And, of course, I’ll be running around hugging people, sometimes for uncomfortably long times. See you there?
Very excited to announce that I’ll be joining WFUV’s John Platt for his monthly series On Your Radar at Rockwood Music Hall on September 15th. Also on the bill are two great acts from the Philadelphia area, the acoustic duo Lovers League and roots rock band Mason Porter (also one of this year’s Falcon Ridge Emerging Artists).
In advance of the show, Lovers League and I will be joining Mr. Platt on his Sunday Supper broadcast on September 13th. The show runs from 5-8 p.m.

Wow. What an amazing weekend at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival. A great late-night song circle at the Budgiedome, a fantastic Emerging Artists Showcase with many other wonderful artists besides Yours Truly, and unplugged sets at Pirate Camp, Acoustic Live, and the Budgiedome.
So many beautiful people at this most magical place on Earth. I can’t tell you how much fun it was to play at the Emerging Artists Showcase with my friends from the No Fuss and Feathers Roadshow (Catherine Miles, Karyn Oliver, and Carolann Solebello) as well as FRFF House Band members Mark Dann and Eric Lee. And so rewarding to see pals Scott Wolfson (& Other Heroes), Meg Braun, and Mya Byrne emerge on the same day.
I could go on forever about the people, the music, the food (thank you, Nyota’s Ting for the vegan barbecue and Taste Budd’s for the vegan chippers), and the wicked fun 60-minute songwriters’ challenge that we took part in. But I’ll just say thanks to Anne Saunders and all of the other fine folks who put on this festival and all those who attend it and make it so special. See ya next year. Mwah!
Very excited about the upcoming Falcon Ridge Folk Festival. I’ll be part of the Emerging Artist Showcase on Friday afternoon and playing around the campsites and midway all through the weekend. Also, you know, just chilling and digging the absolute tidal wave of music that is Falcon Ridge. More info on the Gigs page.
In other news, I’ve been asked to join WFUV’s John Platt for his On Your Radar series in September. The Gigs page is, again, your go-to source for more. This should be great fun. John is a terrific DJ (host of the Sunday Breakfast show) and a passionate supporter of the acoustic music scene at all levels.
See you at the Ridge!
